"Too Much Time on My Hands" is the second single release from Styx's 1981 triple-platinum album Paradise Theatre and reached #9 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and #2 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for 1 week. It is now a staple on classic rock radio.

Styx (pronounced: /stɪks/) is an American rock band. Their hit songs have included "Come Sail Away", "Babe", "Lady", "Mr. Roboto", and "Renegade." Styx is the first band to have four consecutive albums certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.

In January 1981, Styx released Paradise Theatre, a loose concept album that became their biggest hit, reaching number one on the Billboard pop albums chart and yielding five singles, including the top ten hits "The Best of Times" by DeYoung (#3) and "Too Much Time on My Hands" by Shaw (#9). Paradise Theater became the band's fourth consecutive multi-platinum album.
