Synopsis:

Rohit (Salim Diwan) is a call centre employee in Delhi, Vishnu (Ashish Vidyarthi) is a retired government employee from Bhilai and Imli (Raima Sen) is a prostitute in Sonagachi the red light area of Kolkata. Three very different people but all with the same burning ambition - to make it big in Bollywood. It is their consuming passion - one that will brook no obstacle. Each tries in his own way and reaches close to their goal and then face the inevitable heartbreak..

Yet they are not the ones to give up. They gather up their broken dreams for yet another attempt..


Comments:
This is actually three films each on one of the protagonists. The Director cuts and pastes sequences in random to tell us the stories of three obessessed individuals. Yet it is to his credit and that of his editor that the pace of the tale never flags and we get involved with all three characters and the rise and fall of their fortunes.

Its difficult to say who is the best. It is nice to see the talents of Ashish Vidyarthi being used to portray a genuine character for a change. He has been wasted on countless bad-guy characters in Hindi films. Salin Diwan's Rohit has a magnetic attraction too if not for anything but the sheer exuberance he brings to his role. But of the three I liked Raima Sen the most. Her Imli is at once sensual as befits a prostitute whose ideal is Sunny Leone! And yet there is a gamin and also a vulnerable Imli that flashes out every now and then.

The film never dips into vulgarity. It is held on a tight leash by the Director. The music is good, with an occasional number genuinely touching our hearts.

This is a film to watch. Its a pity it did not do too well at the box office. It certainly deserved to do so.


Uploader's Notes:
The film may be good, but the DVD certainly does not do it justice. It is badly authored with the  scenes almost completely  and ligh scenes dull! We have tried to correct the poor authoring, without unduly playing with the scenes. Overall the final rip is a considerable improvement over the original DVD.

This is the standard x264 rip of the movie. To follow, in quick succession, are a tiny 450 MB HEVC rip with no compromise on quality and 720p upscale also in x265.
