E01 In Sheffield, 1989, teenagers Daniel and Alison meet at a house party and bond over their shared love of music. The relationship they forge that night follows them forever and leaves them wondering what could have been. Twenty years later, Daniel is in Sheffield and Alison in Sydney. Despite the distance, Daniel reaches out to Alison in the hope that they might be able to rekindle that spark that once illuminated their young lives.


E02 In Sheffield, 1989, Daniel and Alison’s relationship is beginning in earnest. As they trade mix tapes back and forth, their passion for music and feelings for one another continue to grow. But Alison is hiding something, and Daniel can’t figure out what. Years later, a chance event spurs Daniel to seize the opportunity of his dreams and revisit Alison. But is she the same woman who left all those years ago?

E03 In 1989, Alison’s home life goes from bad to worse as she takes on caring for Peter on top of trying to help her mother deal with her worsening alcoholism. In 2015, Daniel struggles with Alison’s revelations of what occurred during their relationship 20 years ago and the memories of the night they spent together. As they return to their old lives, both Alison and Daniel are forced to seriously consider what they’re doing with their lives – and each other.

E04 In 1989, Daniel is left reeling and heartbroken at Alison’s sudden disappearance. In 2015, an unexpected betrayal takes Daniel by surprise but forces him to confront the fact that he has to fight for what he loves. It gives him the courage to do what he failed to 20 years before: get the girl. As history unknowingly repeats itself, the two must race against time to find each other one last time and rekindle the love they thought was lost.
