“Black House,” a sequel to “The Talisman” by Stephen King and Peter Straub, follows Jack Sawyer, a retired LAPD detective, as he’s drawn back into a world of supernatural horror when a series of gruesome murders, dubbed “The Fisherman,” plague the town of French Landing, Wisconsin, forcing him to confront his repressed memories and past.
Premise:
Jack Sawyer, now in his late thirties and living a quiet life in Wisconsin, has repressed memories of his adventures in the Territories and his hunt for the Talisman as a twelve-year-old boy.
The Fisherman:
A serial killer, dubbed “The Fisherman” for his emulation of Albert Fish, begins terrorizing the town of French Landing, targeting children and engaging in cannibalism.
Jack’s Return:
Jack, despite his attempts to leave his past behind, is drawn back into the investigation due to the nature of the crimes and the local police’s inability to capture the killer.
Supernatural Elements:
The murders are linked to a mysterious and malignant force, and Jack experiences strange nightmares and visions, hinting at a connection to his repressed memories and the Territories.
The Black House:
Jack must confront the source of this evil, which leads him to a terrifying house at the end of a deserted track of forest, where he encounters the obscene and ferocious evils sheltered within it.
