Description
Vaccinology is the branch of medicine concerned with the development of vaccines. The word “vaccinology” means Science of Vaccine Development. A vaccine is any preparation used as a preventive inoculation to confer immunity against a specific disease, usually employing an innocuous form of the disease agent, as killed or weakened bacteria or viruses, to stimulate antibody production. Conventionally, vaccine antigens are produced by genetic engineering technology. These products are sometimes referred to as recombinant vaccines.
