Living Books
Kids love the Living Books series with great stories, nice graphics and tons of clickable hotspots. Text is highlighted as the story is read increasing reading comprehension and confidence. Kids can also click on individual words to hear them read.

IMPORTANT:
All stories need to be run in 640x480 256 colour mode. This mode should start automatically when executing, but if it doesn't:
XP & Vista: Right click on the *.exe file, select 'properties', then 'compatability' and then select both '256 colours' and '640x480'.
Pre XP versions: Go into control panel, display settings and change to 640x480 256 colour mode.
