Over the past 30 years, they have drained revenue from their supply chain leaving farmworkers in poverty, working under dangerous, subhuman conditions. Yet most supermarkets take no responsibility for this. Food Chains focuses on an intrepid, highly lauded group of tomato pickers from Southern Florida – the CIW (Coalition of Immokalee Workers), who are revolutionizing farm labor. Their aim is to ensure a dignified life for farm workers and a more humane, transparent food industry.
